FLOWER BOMB

Saturday, February 1
strappy bralet, c/o choies / floral dress, thrifted / velvet skirt, luscious cravings /
backpack, ivoryjar / choker, taobao / cross socks, topshop / grails platforms, unif

If you have been hanging around my blog for a while, you would know I'm basically obsessed with anything floral. I have too much floral in my wardrobe, in fact. But the moment I saw this dress, I knew I had to get it. I knew I had to wear it as an oversized cardigan instead and all sorts of floral wizard-inspired outfit ideas popped into my head. For the rest of my outfit, I decided to go all black to combat the crazy floral print with my maxi skirt and a bralet with thin straps for some witchy vibes.

// Whoa it's February 1st. School is starting to get back to its usual grind and I'm still in holiday mode. Doesn't help that we are having our Chinese New Year celebrations right now (and constant access to yummy peanut cookies & pineapple tarts all around the house and lots of family reunion dinners). So much has happened recently and like everyone else, I am still figuring things out as I go along. But I am trying to stick to one of my 2014 resolutions which is to blog more regularly so I can't wait to get this blog alive again. x

Leopard print hoodie, secondhand / Asymmetrical tank, thrifted / Leather shorts, The Editor's Market / Mambo backpack, parents' / Socks, Cotton On /
Necklaces - This is Transition, Topshop / Rings - Chic Obsession, H&M, Diva / Bracelets - Australia, thrifted

If you have been reading Wolf Gypsy long enough, (let me internet smooch/fist bump you with your computer screen because I love you) you know that I just HAD to name this outfit after an animal. My asymmetrical tank even gave me a little tail!

This cute jacket is rather special to me because it's probably the first item I bought for myself. I got it from my bestfriend during secondary school and I wore it as much as possible. Rainy days, sick days and intensive study sessions in the air conditioned school hall for our O'level exams even. I was pretty much the only BAMF for being in a different jacket. Aw yea, living life on the edge.

Gratuitous picture of myself to end my first post of 2013 with a bang.

And HOORAY, I just got 1000 followers on Lookbook last night!
It may not be much to some but it's a whole lot to me. I have no words to describe how much I love you all LB followers/blog readers! I really appreciate this. Thank you so much for making my 2013 awesome already.

cut out boots, TLN / ditsy multi row necklace, Topshop / rings - handmade, Diva, AMEN, H&M / bracelets - Tatiri, gift from Australia

I have been on a crop top crunch lately. I feel like all I need is MORE CROP TOPS! Long sleeves, no sleeves, any prints, give them all to meeeee!
This lovely cosmic beauty is my current favourite. It might be familiar as I recently worn it as my crazy nebula costume for Halloween. Here's the same top but in a total different outfit! I just love how my long sheer cardigan instantly adds a gypsy/witchy vibe to my outfit. Then I thought, why stop at my witchy cardigan? So, I added an inverted cross tote bag, which was one of my school bags, that I got from This Is Transition's grab bag a year ago. Piled on my favourite necklaces, stacked on my rings and I'm good to go!

Nebulas. Crystal quartz. Moon, sun and eyeball pendants. My favourite kind of things.

Grey jacket, mom's / Butterfly crop top, Bugis / Fringed bag & shorts, thrifted / Spiked headband worn as choker, Topshop /
Eyeball claw necklace & pink waffle socks, Topshop / Quartz necklace, Amen / Jemma lookalikes, Taobao

I love rummaging through my wardrobe for clothes that have been buried deep within ~Narnia~! Isn't it exciting to rediscover what you bought eons ago and realise you have totally forgotten about that item after it has been lost under your tsunami of new/frequently-worn clothes? I always feel like it's some sort of Easter egg game that I play with myself and it's great to have that "AWWYEA *NEW* CLOTHES" feeling. Especially since my style has been changing a lot for a long time now, I always realise or find old clothes that would look awesome in my current fashion style and be a potential part of any future outfits. So, imagine my excitement when I rediscovered this lovely butterfly crop top!! I have the best of both worlds with the print - I love butterflies and scientific illustrations & diagrams of animals and insects.

And ugh, I have been so busy with school lately that I barely have time to update my blog recently. Only one freaking post for the month of august!? I FEEL TERRIBLE. Work has been piling up but I am trying to post more. I am so far behind on blog posts!! Q^Q

A few months ago, I came across a photo of this beautiful Topshop bralet online and it was all I could think of. I mean, come on!!! Just look at that lovely greenish-purple shimmer! TELL ME THIS IS ALL YOU ARE EVER GOING TO THINK ABOUT AS WELL AFTER SEEING THEM HERE!!! And as if thinking about it 24/7 and saving a picture of it onto my desktop so that I can open it up and stare at it even more wasn't enough, the amazing Madeline of Jean Greige soon posted an outfit with the bralet as well!!! I was practically foaming at my mouth at this point because she looked so super rad and I was at a loss for words! The bralet photo on my desktop was calling out my name even louder now...
I NEEDED TO GET SOME OF THOSE GLITTERY AWESOMENESS ONTO MY BODY.

However, my search for this spectacular piece of clothing went on for weeks. But finally, almost a month later, and countless of asking whenever I visit the store, I found it at Topshop. There it was, glistening under the store lights, waiting for me. I immediately rushed over to get a hold of one and it was not that I knew it had to be mine, in my mind, it was already mine.
While putting this outfit together, the word 'Beetlejuice' came to my mind. Not only referring to the awesome movie but also the beautiful wings of a beetle! Or the scales of a mermaid's tail. And I like how the bralet look so good with black so black shades, outerwear, shorts, shoes it is!

How I wish it was socially acceptable to just walk out of the house like this, sans outwear. It looks perfect for summer festivals!

The bralet looks puuuurrfect with my Tunnel Vision denim jacket on too!

The heater has been spoilt for two days now & I had to bathe my little sweetheart in cold water. Q^Q

This is one of the apartments at my block that I finally managed to get a photo of. I love it. I used to spend a lot of time outside this house a few years ago. A kitten appeared out of nowhere one day and stayed around here. The Indian family gave it food regularly and even placed a basket with some towels in it for the little kitten to sleep in! Of course, I became best friends with this kitten (because I have to be best friends with all the cats of my estate) and I would visit her when I'm on my way home from school. I named her Magic. I miss her.
