☹ SEMI HIATUS ☹

Here's my sleepy pineapple tart Fifi waving hello to you beautiful people, on behalf for me. 

She will be here, manning my blog and waving at anyone who visits for the next two weeks!

So many final projects are due this week. I am dying on the inside. And all I want to do is sleep and eat spaghetti & pizzas. I am having doubts about my own work recently and that is not a good thing when assessment is less than a week away. On the other hand, it still feels super weird that all this craziness is about to be over so soon. Fingers crossed that I will pull through and everything will go well for the next two weeks.

Wednesday's child is full of woe

"What? ANOTHER Halloween post?!" HELL YES IT IS! Even though Halloween's over.
My friends decided to really dress up for Halloween this year so I decided to get more costume-y. I was super excited because 1) Wednesday Addams is one of my all time favourite tv show characters, 2) it was my first time actually dressing up and 3) celebrating this awesome holiday (it was on a wednesday too!) with my friends! Loved that this was yet another simple costume to put together. And just how cute is this dress! I like that it's velvet and bodycon - something different from the usual Wednesday Addams costumes you see around! Totally awesome to wear on normal days too!


Okay, the braids are starting to grow on me. (And yes, my hair is shorter now.. I chopped them off :B)




Two lecturers gave out snacks to those who dressed up and there was a costume competition!!! My friends dressed up as some of the seniors, a senior dressed up as a lecturer, my lecturers dressed up, there was the rocker duo Grohl & Akerfeldt, Finn from Adventure Time, Iron Man, Salvador Dali, a Roy Liechtenstein 'painting', and Faris *forgot* his costume so I made sure he wore black and brought him cat ears and a collar.

aftermath

2 weeks ago, my life was a hectic mess. And here's me in an appropriate shirt.

All I could think about was completing my work for my assessment. I hardly had the time to sleep. Work first, sleep more work second. Sleep was totally out of the option!! Assessment was on monday morning and me & my friends stayed over at school on sunday night! It was pretty fun at first. People were dancing to music, laughing, watching weird videos of not-so-sexy people dancing seductively at a beach, chatting. Then things mellowed down, people went home, and it got quieter. And warmer too - the aircon got turned off and it got annoyingly stuffy in the studio. Then we started to feel delirious from the lack of sleep from the past few days. It felt weird because time was crawling. We kept exclaiming, "WTF!? It's not even 3 am yet!!?! What is going onnnnn?" 

We visited each other's space to check on how things were going, to cheer each other on, and to stay awake. Ghost stories were told too! It was nice - all of this togetherness. It was like we are all in this together, like High School Musical minus the constant singing. It was cosy; I liked it. My friends helped me out soooo much that I don't have the right words to express my gratitude! I feel really proud of my work this semester too! :)

Found Object / Cabinets of Curiosities

• Web of memories - made to look like a spider web/dreamcatcher - not so literal cabinet!
• Falling - Suspended bottles. To express on how things are being thrown away so easily nowadays.
• Antlers - I got this cool branch nailed to a mirror on the wall. The mirror act as a not so literal cabinet
• Film - Playing around with the idea of the instinct of putting negatives up against a light to look at them, I sew negatives together and glued into a hole of a door. It looks like a polaroid at the same time.

And finally, assessment was over. We sleepily got a cab and collapsed into a deep 8 hour coma. Then we had to go back to school to pack up and collect our stuff. We were all tired but glad that this is over. Now, time to enjoy our 3 month long holidaaaaaay ~ 

WHEEEE I'm watching Avengers with my friends tomorrow later on! The whole imax theatre to ourselves!!!! I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT. And definitely need to go to sleep now - it's 4:35 am. (ugh, I know, it's the holidays and yet, I am still up so late. I don't know what I am doing with my holidays!!) We are gonna go shop a little too afterwards~ 

And why hello there, Ben, who's been stalking my blog, and waiting for me to finish writing this so he can go to sleep.

I am pretty sure that I was subconsciously channeling my inner sleuth when I came up with this outfit. One of my dream jobs is to be a detective like the ones on Criminal Minds or CSI, but slightly more bohemian -like Sherlock Holmes- and I would love to have a never ending wealth of information. I could be a cool modern gypsy-detective, solving little crimes (like saving cats from trees), running around having butt-kicking adventures, while still being able to have time to paint and visit thrift stores! ...Hey, a girl can dream, right? :)

And you might be wondering, Why am I all dressed up for? Well, it was for my awesome friend Reyme's fashion photog project! It was an assignment where the students had replicate a bunch of photos from fashion magazines and learn how to direct the model on how to pose. I was really shy & awkward throughout.. Seriously, there were some really weird poses that I had to replicate! It only resulted in sudden outbursts of laughter from the both of us. So happy I was able to help my friend out for his project and hang out with Reyme again! I met him on the first day of school and we clicked straightaway. Sadly we weren't in the same class but whenever we see each other in school, we would hug and as if we see each other every day. Love this boy!!

Welp, I'm off to enjoy the rest of this cosy downpour and sleep while I still can! (heh, it's almost 8am now) And again, pardon my missing photos from my older posts as I don't have time to replace them. ;(

I miss celebrating vday at my secondary school. Sure, spending it with your significant other is great, but spending it with a bunch of friends at school, where a whole lot of others are celebrating it too, makes it 100x better. Y'know, it's not just you, your date and tons of other strangers on dates. It's you and your schoolmates - it's one huge celebration! I have so many fond memories: giving out handmade heart-shaped cards, choosing specific chocolates for various people, uploading photos of hot actors to tag my friends on facebook, receiving flowers, gifts and lots of hugs!!

Well, it wasn't that different this year. There were hugs, chocolates and flowers(well, my friend was preparing some to give away though). It wasn't as much as before but the best part was the company. Me and my friends hung out, took pictures, shared a muffin, and pranced all over the place together. Most of us are #foreveralone-ing since it's our Single Awareness week. And thus, we decided to spice things up by....
WEARING BLACK FOR THE WHOLE WEEK.
Because black is the colour of our souls.

And I pretty much almost died from laughter when I got out of the lift to see my friend like this at 10:30pm. Eugenice made sea salt caramel chocolates!! We exchanged chocs and ended up having a heart to heart sess until midnight! It was such a lovely way to end Vday. ♡
